Jakarta - Indonesian Students won first prize at the cultural event or the World Youth Festival 2012-2013 International Youth Festival in Pune, India, on 10 February. This accomplishment they achieved after showing Saman dance from Aceh. They managed to exclude competitors from the 25 participating countries.

It is presented by the Consulate General Mumbai, India, Indra Kesuma Oesman, through a press release received by the Center for Information and Public Relations, Kemdikbud, Friday (02/15/2013).

Indra said the annual event is organized by the University of Pune. Implementation is getting incredible response of 1,000 invited guests and the public. "Melombakan arts and cultural activities of foreign students who study in as many as 40 universities and polytechnics affiliation," he said.

Earlier, at the festival, presenting culinary students Indonesia Indonesia as risoles, bakwan, fruit ice, layer godok legit and bananas. University of Pune is one of the leading universities in India established since 1948 and have 170,000 local students and foreign students from 104 countries.

There are currently as many as 15 Indonesian students who study at the University of Pune and its affiliates like the Spicer Memorial College and Symbiosis International University. "Although their numbers a bit, but the spirit and their struggle to promote the arts and culture of Indonesia deserves the award," said Indra. (ASW)
